Modern Bath Mat
This is the perfect time of year to take stock of what you have and what you have to get rid of. My green bamboo bathroom mat is faded now and ready for the trash, but luckily I've finally found another that meets my requirement. (Yes, only one requirement. Still, it's very difficult to find a bath mat that meets it) I require, absolutely require, that my bath mat be made of a solid surface. No shag. No rug of any kind.
Happily, I'm not alone in my quest for such a mat and, even more happily, the like-minded Hella Jongerius created one.
Cushy, easy to clean, will not trap hair or water, and $50 at Fitzsu Society.

Today i will give my mother-in-law a gift I'm dying to keep for myself. It's a modern, sleek, teak bar cart. Perfect for her beach house, but wouldn't it look just as good in my dining room?
Since this is a one of kind design found at a local shop, I can't possibly get myself one. So I've decided to quench my thirst for teak on a much smaller, but almost as serviceable scale.
My gift to myself this year is this set of teak trays by Rolf Sinnemark...
$36 - $50 through Scandinavian Details.

Green Kitchen Storage Cart
For those of us with a postage stamp for a kitchen, maximizing storage is a serious quest. Happily, it's one that this (sustainable!) bamboo kitchen cart can help with.
Though it has a small footprint, this cart opens, slides and reveals more storage space than the average cupboard. There's a wine rack, cutting board, extra counter space, and two hidden cubbies packed into this 20" by 38" rectangle. And of course, the whole unit is easily moved around the kitchen.
By Brave Space Design, available through Design Public for $2,650.

Modern Jewelry Storage
For the woman who has everything and the jewelry collection to prove it, this organic jewelry tree holds her baubles where she can see them. It may be tasteless for her to wear it all at once, but on the tree it just looks festive. A gorgeous design in mirrored aluminum by Louise Christ for Menu.
