Just a little something fun and funky on this cold and dreary Tuesday.

Skip the Paint
I've painted every room in my home at least 3 times in the past 5 years -- and can never quite get the effect I'm going for.
Thinking of scraping it all and going with an ultra-mod wall covering.
My current fave is the Wild Orchid Series

Go Chair by Ross Lovegrove
The symbol for magnesium in the periodic table is straightforward: Mg. Often recognized for its fame-stricken presence in supernova stars, Magnesium is also found in gorgeous designs created by man.
Take for instance the powder-coated magnesium frame sported by the Go chair by Ross Lovegrove for Bernhardt Design.

Coral is a very hot topic right now -- no surprise that it inspired a new contemporary chair.

Stunning Summer Steel
I have been scouring outdoor furniture websites for weeks, trying to find the perfect outdoor dining set. One that is fresh and chic, but doesn't stand out against the backdrop of my toddler's many outdoor toys.
Glass top is out (which eliminates most of the sets out there) because of said toddler's smudgy little hands. Wrought iron isn't my style (which eliminates the few other sets). While steel may not initially seem the best choice due to summer temps, the durability is a definite plus.
I believe I've found a little piece of spirited summer perfection with the EMU Pattern Table & Chairs from Coalesse. Bright and simplistic with a great pop of detail, this is the perfect set to mix and match.

Not Just Another Table
“A strong personality, always in movement, always trying to put one foot in front of the other.” If you know the story of Belgian designer Alain Gilles, you’d assume he was referring to his career. It took him from the busy, successful world of finance and placed him in an industrial design program. “As if it were walking, each foot stretches to reach further away. Whatever the angles, it always looks strikingly different from one point of view to another, as if you could never really grab it.”

Style is from Mars
Wide strips of white perforated (and recycled!) Lexan plastic forms an over-sized, contemporary globe that envelops and radiates the light.
I think my kitchen just added the Mars Pendant to its remodeling wish list...
