Chic Crib by Miguel
The chic Italian white leather and red (stain-resistant) Crypton crib-come-bed was a head turner at the Architectural Digest show. Father-to-be (again) Miguel Ruiz's labor of love for his daughter Cassandra features European-style rails that descend when the baby is small and raise as the child grows until they pop out all together. There is also an American-version for those who can't fathom the ease of lowering the sides versus re-adjusting the mattress.
Ruiz created his eponymous company because he loathed the frilly frou-frou that is the staple of babydom, and wanted sophisticated furniture that would morph to the needs of a growing child. The collection includes a changing table with storage drawers that turns into a dresser with just the addition of a lid.
