Ping Pong Wishes & Chandelier Dreams
Pushing ten feet, 130 lbs. and comprised of over 3,000 ping pong balls, the Troy chandelier lit up the Circular Ligne Roset Lounge at the The Architectural Digest Home Design Show last week.
The enormous French Empire/Deco Moderne inspired piece left us wishing we had the kind of vision and imagination that fuel a project like this. The Troy's long strands of glowing orbs declared ping pong balls upscale, and nobody argued.
The Home Show version of the Troy, the only one in existence, was auctioned off at CharityBuzz.com in a lot that closed today, just an hour ago. And what a deal some lucky bidder got. The Troy's value is estimated at $40,000, but the highest bidder on CharityBuzz? $2,000.
For those of us without the room for a ten-foot chandelier there are 48" by 24" versions of Troy available, and you don't even have to bid for them.

Comment on This Article Here! Ping Pong Wishes & Chandelier Dreams:
Hi there! Thanks for the great compliments on our Troy chandelier! This is Marcia Zia from Zia-Priven Design, the designers of The Troy. I just wanted to clear one thing up. The chandelier did not sell for $2000, as there was a larger reserve on it. It would have been a heck of a buy, you're right but it now is looking for a home. We were considering a contest to find a public space to display it or even sell to, with a large percentage going to Charitybuzz anyway. After all, we did create it for the show and to benefit Directeffect for Aids research. If anyone has any ideas, we would welcome them!
Thanks again,
Marcia Zia Zia-Priven Design
