Uterus Vase

Uterus

At first sight, Uterus Vase by The Plug & Stéphanie Rollin is a vessel whose form and completion disconcert, causing  ambivalent feelings.

Although the shape of the female reproductive organ is known by everyone from illustrations in biology or anatomy books, one rarely speaks about it openly. Even more rare are the occasions to celebrate it. However, the statuary beauty of this smooth porcelain-like vase of pure whiteness gives its dignity back to an intrinsic human topic, that nowadays has become the celebrated theme of over-consumed erotic images. The enigmatic notoriety of its form, as for it, reflects the true depth of a subject respectfully treated by its creators.

Conceived in a limited edition of twenty, the vase is made of several layers of lacquer and varnish around a resin core.

Can't imagine what it feels like to think of a design like this for a vase.

This would really qualify as something weird because imagine a vase that looks like a uterus.

Freak! What's next? A vase shaped like my dick and balls? It'd be a HUGE vase, by the way.

At first, I thought this was a toothbrush holder in the shape of a uterus and fallopian tubes. Then, I realized it was a flower vase in the shape of a uterus

Exotic image? I don't know about that... I think that most guys I know would be a bit grossed out by this vase.

Is it weird I find that vase strangely beautiful? I'd love to put it in my foyer and see if people think it's just a vase or react to it's form.

Uhhh that's just kinda weird...looks like it could work in a doctor's office maybe.

Posted by: Dentist Los Angeles | Nov 8, 2011 2:19:43 PM

Not something that I would necessarily want displaying anywhere near me, but I have to at least say it's interesting. Also, why?

You're so right in pointing out that the uterus has become almost corrupted as an erotic-thought inducing image, polluted by porn and perverts. But the artist who did this really did craft it with care and the white is beautiful. The human form in all aspects is beautiful and should be viewed as such.
