Abstract Rugs
Amy Helfand's modern rugs are inspired by nature then abstracted in color palettes I don't have the talent to dream of. Thankfully, she does, because these rugscapes recall all the relaxing, interesting, exciting elements of the outdoors in the artist's own, thoroughly innovative, style.

Zia Priven Modern Crystal Sconce
I'm in love with this modern sconce from Zia Priven. Called the Savoy, this wall mounted light fixture riots with huge drops of handmade Italian crystal. It's available in bronze, burnished brass or satin nickel finish but the polished nickel shown is so spectacular, I haven't even looked at the other options.

Modern Chandeliers, Pendants
The designers and craftsmen at Studio Italia Design really do ‘dream with the lights on.’ They view designing light fixtures as a series of opportunities to examine how we see and experience light. 'Lightning in a bottle' is another way to think about how they design such beautiful products. Respecting and embellishing the light source is where Studio Italia Design excels. Understanding that suspended light fixtures are artistic, while still performing a variety of tasks is why there is no substitute for Studio Italia’s experience: materials must match environments, sizes and scales have to be well thought-out, color palettes examined and re-examined – it’s an ongoing dialogue that results in beautiful expression.
Surf: As calm and gentle as the ripples produced by a receding wave, Studio Italia Design’s Surf fixture provides visual interest over a dining table or kitchen island without overpowering the space. The adjustable suspension fixture is composed of a satin nickel frame with two long blown glass shades. Shown in satin nickel, but also available in frosted white glass, red or black glass for more dramatic effect.
Andrei: The Andrei by Studio Italia Design represents their foray into DecoTech: the merging of cutting-edge modern design with a focus on light management. Designed by Brian Rasmussen, the polished stainless steel fixture features pleated mirrors that fragment the reflection of the viewer. According to Rasmussen, the Andrei was inspired by director Andrei Tarkovsky’s film Nostalghia. In the film, the protagonist’s emotional state of mind is visually represented using his own reaction as seen in the refracted reflection of a mirrored surface. The collection is available as a pendant, sconce, and floor lamp in white metal or mirror-finished stainless steel.
The Graffiti collection by Studio Italia Design features a chrome frame with transparent crystal diffuser sprayed with abstract, graffiti-like details in hand-blown milk-white glass or black glass. Playful, yet still elegant enough for a dining room. Available in sconce, suspended, table and floor lamp configurations.
The Lace fixture is a fine example of grace and simplicity combined. The glass artists in Murano understand that there are times when the glass pendant that surrounds the source of light must allow the light through in its purest form. This contemporary pendant features a chrome frame and hand-blown clear crystal diffuser with glass applications. Available in suspended, wall-mount and table lamp configurations.
If you want a softer, more subtle pendant for a room, the Playa is a perfect match. Slim and elegant, the Playa suits multiple design settings and works beautifully in a variety of rooms. Designed with adjustable suspension luminaire for direct or indirect lighting. Brushed nickel frame, and hand-blown satin white glass diffuser are standard.
