New Trend? Marble Flooring
My home is mostly hardwood, with the basic area rug here and there. Nothing cutting-edge in the kitchen or bathroom - boring ceramic tile. I have the hardest time committing to more permanent design features. My office has been re-done 3 times in 5 years, same for the guest bedroom. My kitchen has be painted more times than I can count. And while I don't know if I could commit to the Woogie Collection, I like to imagine it splashed throughout my home. A girl can dream.
Forming one of the three Woogie Coltiection inlaid marble flooring desig ns by Budri, the various shades of blue, orange, and white make up the swirling Kaos: A throwback flooring artwork design to the 1960’s and 70’s.

After Matisse
Using 26 different colors, designer Sonya Winner has created the bold After Matisse rug. It's odd shape with saturated hues and blended sections was inspired by famed artist Henri Matisee (whose works were often made using paper cutouts). The result is a fantastic piece of useable art.
The collage of 26 colors “replicates the effect of transparent colors mixed together”, said the designer. Can you imagine how splendid this would be in an all white room, or perhaps a children's play area?

The Buzziskin 3D Tile
Recently nominated for Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year Awards (BoY) as an Eco Product are the Buzziskin 3D Tiles. Not unlike their parent company by the name of Buzzispace, this brand new 3D tile infuses vibrant colors into a self-adhering, upcycled PET-waste product that brightens up an office space.

3D Recycled Wallpaper
Can't commit to a paint color (or, if you're a renter, the landlord won't allow you to)? Jaime Salm’s new Paperforms are a three-dimensional textured wall panel that add both color and texture to a room. The panels are 12x12, and can be attached with double stick tape or more permanently with wallpaper paste. Paperforms come in a few different designs and colors which are whimsical as well as geometrical, adding an air of sophistication to the potentially quirky wall coverings. The colors are bright or neutral, the neutrals being my favorites as they emphasize the three-dimensional nature of the panels through shadow.
*Paperforms are made from 100% post and pre-consumer waste paper, which makes them affordable as well as environmentally friendly.

Felt Up
Designed as part of Edition Ruckstuhl - a limited edition series of twelve carpets by nine designers from canada and europe - this particular felt carpet resembles a fallen autumn leaf or perhaps a golden flake of paint from centuries past. Claudy Jongstra, the Dutch designer behind the weave of marigold-tinted felt, was trained as a fashion designer who found her calling in using felt back in 1994 after witnessing a Mongolian yurt (tent) on display in the Nederlands Textielmuseum. Since her discovery, Jongstra’s textiles have been used by leading fashion designers such as John Galliano, Donna Karan, and Christian Lacroix. Since then, her work has been dedicated to creating the soft wool fabric with a combination of either silk fibers or transparent silk organza - something that had never been seen before.

Loving leather
Leather is a classic for fall fashions -- and perfect to warm your home for the upcoming crisp weather.
Ecodomo collects scraps from shoe, furniture and other factories and grinds them to shreds using stones, much like the way paper is made. The shreds are then bound together with natural binding agents like Acacia bark and rubber, both of which are rapidly renewable.
Recycled leather panels can be put on the floor or walls, and will wear better over time than natural hide leather. The panels are more stable and require less maintenance than traditional leather.

Modern wall coverings
Frost is Chilewich's latest, just unveiled at ICFF. It's shown here as a floor covering but it's also meant for walls. A great solution for stairwells, where paint and wallpaper are oft touched and dirtied. This is about as easy to clean as it gets.
See more of Chilewich's newest patterns.
